首先简要地介绍了多进制小波基本理论并分析了其变换特征，然后阐述了其在影像缩小、边缘检测中的应用。

() Abstract
Mult band wavelet is a newly developed branch of wavelet analysis, and superior to 2 band in symmetry and smooth, and can solve some probelms which 2 band can't. In this paper, first we intruduce base theory of mult band wavelet and analyse transform properties of the wavelet, then obtain the applications of mult band wavelet in image reduction and edge detection.
